Our Design Approach

Contextual Modern
Modernists at heart, we emphasize flow and use of natural light.   At the same time, we are sensitive to the character of the surrounding of the project.  Our goal is to create modern living with respect to its setting and architectural context.

Integrated Design
In our practice, we believe there is no line between architecture, interior design and landscape/site design.  Many of our projects morphed from one type to the other during the process.  Our design and construction experiences in the above three areas give us the unique edge to deliver a home with comfort, performance and appealing aesthetics. 

Individualized,  Collaborative
Our design process is individualized and collaborative. We understand the needs of modern families at every stage of life—from a first home, to a large estate designed for multigenerational living, to a forever home that supports aging in place.
We respect the lifestyle and vision of each individual family. Detail oriented, we help clients with comprehensive planning during design and construction process.  

About Ying
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Design and hold degrees in both Architecture and Urban Planning. I am an NCARB member, and registered architect in New York and New Jersey.   
Motherhood, along with my love for hands-on, on-site building experience, led me to focus on residential practice closer to home.
Since 2010, together with a strong network of trusted professionals and contractors, my team and I have completed more than 90 residential projects across New Jersey and New York.
